According to online reports, Simmtronics specially made this netbook for the Indian market. Maybe that's why this Simbook comes at a reasonable price.

Design & specifications
The netbook is a gloss-finished piece, with jet black lid and internal surfaces. The entire theme is glossy black, which makes the netbook a fingerprint magnet. The keyboard is a smaller-sized affair, with less than regular sized 'Shift' and 'Enter' keys. Also, the position of the 'Ctrl' key is interchanged with the 'Fn' key, which is frustrating to get used to.

There is no space in between keys, and the tactile feel is light and quite easy on the typing flex. The touch pad could have had a different colour for the buttons on either side, for one has to probe a bit while using to access them, more so as they are seamlessly flush mounted. The software available is UBUNTU 9.10 OS, which is loaded with Linux freeware goodies. Linux users by all means can go ahead with the Ubuntu.

Verdict
At 13,999 this is one of the least expensive models out there. It doesn't have a Pinetrails processor either. On normal usage, the battery lasts for about four to five hours, which is good for a 3 cell battery. Besides basic usage, forget encoding or watching high definition stuff.
