Siri is now telling everyone that Apple's next launch event is on April 20

Last month, there were rumours of Apple holding a launch event, in which the company was reportedly prepared to launch its highly anticipated AirTags smart tracker, the next-generation iPad Pro models as well as the AirPods 3. While the news of that launch event turned out to be fake, it looks like the company will launch these devices on April 20, if the company's voice assistant Siri is to be believed.

Asking Siri when the next Apple event will trigger the response “the special event is on Tuesday, April 20, at Apple Park in Cupertino, CA. You can get all the details on Apple.com” — which is pretty self-explanatory. Spotted by MacRumors, the response from Siri only links to Apple's homepage, which doesn't bear any official information from Apple, so we will need to wait until Apple confirms the launch dates or sends out invites.

While we were able to verify the response from Siri, what is certainly odd about Siri's response is that the event is said to take place at Apple's headquarters at Cupertino. While this would be par for the course under normal circumstances, the world is now in its second year of surviving the novel coronavirus pandemic — and it looks like Apple's next event is likely to be virtual and streamed online.

As invites for Apple's invites usually go out around a week before the launch event, it looks like we will soon know whether Siri gave out the right information. At the event, Apple is expected to launch new iPad Pro models that are powered by faster chipsets while one of them will reportedly sport an advanced Mini LED screen. In adiditon, the company's AirTags, a bluetooth tracker and the successor to the company's AirPods 2 True Wireless Earbuds are also expected at the launch event.
