While the gameplays here provide satisfying virtual sport, they don't come close to matching FIFA video game on features, graphical splendour or team detail.

We are talking about Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 (PES), and it would be fair to say that the game's learning curve is steeper than ever, with an improved defense system, jockeying and tactical positioning.

While it may look simple getting the hang of things takes time and practice. As for the new player moves in the game, the dribbling system has improved and will help tease the defenders to move your way past defense lines.

You can turn regular passes into lofted passes and regular shots into controlled shots, hence giving you manual control over the direction of your kicks — making it realistic. The pace has been slowed down slightly, giving you more control over the flow of the match. But, PES lacks official licenses for the majority of teams, so you're stuck with using the editor to create official teams.
