Sony is working on a new version of its PS4 console with more GPU prowess that will be announced later this year before the launch of the PlayStation VR, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The upcoming version of the PS4 will be capable of running games at 4K resolution, and is said to feature better "graphics and power" with an upgraded GPU that can handle more graphics processing power. This would essentially provide a more immersive VR experience, as currently the PS4 is restricted to a 1080p resolution which really isn't enough to provide a decent VR gaming experience. A powerful GPU and a faster processor would make the whole experience of playing games on the PlayStation VR much better.
