At a press event on Monday, Sony launched the Xperia X and Sony Xperia XA smartphones in India. The mid-range Sony Xperia XA is priced at 20,990, whereas the high-end Xperia X will set you back by 48,990. Both the handsets are dual-SIM variants and support Indian LTE bands. They will be sold exclusively through Amazon India.

For a refresh, the Sony Xperia X sports a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display. The Sony Xperia X is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC, which comes paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Other features of the Sony Xperia X smartphone include a 23-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing shooter. To recall, Sony had used the same camera sensors on the Z5 Premium. The 7.9mm thick Sony Xperia X houses a 2,620mAh battery. It also comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner. It comes in white, graphite black, lime gold, and rose gold colour options.

The Sony Xperia X is the mid-range handset between the two. It sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The handset also comes with a microSD slot, should you need more storage.

Other features of the Sony Xperia XA include a 2,300mAh battery, 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. It comes in the same colour combination as the Sony Xperia X smartphone.

The Sony X smartphone will be available for purchase starting June 6 whereas the Sony XA will be available from the third week of June. Whether users will put trust in Sony and pay a premium for its smartphones remains to be seen.
