SpaceX will launch its first civilian space tourism mission on September 15. The company's first trip is set to take off from the NASA pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in the US. SpaceX Inspiration4 flight is a three-day trip in space. The launch is notable for several reasons, including the fact that this will be the first-ever flight in orbit without an astronaut on board, but there will be a crew. This will also be the first SpaceX mission to feature the glass observatory dome on the Dragon spacecraft. The mission is being conducted to study the impact of spaceflight on the human body.

SpaceX has already revealed many important details about the flight, including the notable inclusion of 29-year-old Hayley Arceneaux, who is a bone cancer survivor. The Inspiration4 mission is intended to create awareness about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and hopefully raise $200 million for the facility, according to the Inspiration4 mission website.

Once the SpaceX crew is in orbit, they will perform scientific and research experiments on “human health and performance” in order to better understand human health during future spaceflights. “The crew of Inspiration4 is eager to use our mission to help make a better future for those who will launch in the years and decades to come,” said Jared Isaacman, commander of the Inspiration4 mission.

SpaceX is reportedly targeting a 24-hour launch window starting at 8 PM ET on Tuesday, September 14. This means that space enthusiasts in India must be ready starting 5:30 AM IST on Wednesday (September 15), to watch the event live. As the launch date approaches, SpaceX will narrow down the launch window to five hours, depending on weather conditions. The Inspiration4 launch will be live-streamed on the official SpaceX YouTube channel, which can be accessed here. Those who miss it should be able to catch a video of the launch event later once the live stream is completed.
