Targeting new market lifestyle computing, MS and HP unleash their latest 'designer' hardware, writes Debjeet Kundu.
It's the season for style and the fashion epidemic is spreading wide and fast. And it's making a point to touch everyone's life in some way or the other. Even as the two fashion weeks in the city had fashionistas going mad— and spoilt for choices too — two IT giants chose to use the weather perfectly.
First it was Microsoft unleashing its latest range of 'designer' hardware. An Arc Mouse, designed by Jattin Kochhar, was the highlight of the range as the seductive merlot and black little arcs were enough to tempt any techno geek and fashionista alike. The four-buttons 2.4 GHz wireless mouse has a micro transreciever and can be operated within a range of 30 feet from the CPU. The other show stealers 'on the ramp' were the Explorer Mini mouse with BlueTrack tracking technology, the sleek and sexy LifeCam VX-5500 and the gamers delight SideWinder X6 keyboard, amongst others.
With Peony flowers — symbolising prosperity and happiness — gracing the outer body, the dashing red and pink notebook marks Tam's first foray into the tech world. With the 'enter' button having Vivienne Tam's signature "Double Happiness" imprinted on it, the notebook can easily be mistaken as your new red purse.
Targeting the new evolving market lifestyle computing, the notebook will be priced anything between ₹40,000 to ₹50,000.
