Taiwan is battling one of its worst droughts in over 50 years. The worsening condition has forced the government to implement water rationing measures in the condition. This situation, however, has turned a boon for a man who lost his iPhone 11 almost a year ago in the country's famed Sun Moon lake.

A man who goes by the name Chen on Facebook dropped his iPhone 11 Pro Max while paddleboarding in the iconic lake back in March last year. According to a report by Taiwan News, Chen got his phone back earlier this month as the drought in the country turned the lake into a barren wasteland reducing the water level to a record low.

As per the report, when a local worker contacted Chen to inform him that his lost iPhone had been found, he could sleep due to the excitement of receiving the news. When he finally got his phone back, its pouch was covered in dried mud. Thankfully, the phone inside was completely intact and dry. When he charged his iPhone, all its features worked perfectly fine.

“I was surprised and happy at that time...It was really amazing, unpacking the cell phone plastic set was complete, all I can say is the phone's waterproof protective set is really amazing...didn't get in the water at all,” he wrote in a post on his Facebook page sharing his story.
