SoftBank is said to consider bid for TikTok in India
SoftBank Group Corp. is exploring assembling a group of bidders for TikTok's India assets and has been actively looking for local partners. Over the past month, the Japanese conglomerate, which owns a stake in TikTok's Chinese parent ByteDance Ltd., has held talks with the heads of India's Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Ltd.
PM Modi's Twitter account was taken over by hackers
Today morning a hacker group named ‘John Wick' took over a Twitter account that's linked to PM Narendra Modi's website. The hackers told The Next Web that they wanted nothing to do with the account and only wanted to quash a recent report that blamed them for hacking Paytm Mall. Paytm Mall has, however, denied any breach on their platform.
Realme 7, 7 Pro launched in India: Price, specs and more
The line up includes the 7 and 7 Pro, both of which come with a base price of ₹14,999 and ₹19,999 respectively. The handsets are being marketed for their camera performance and fast-charging solutions among other features. You can get the Realme 7 in 6GB+64GB and 8GB+128GB variants at ₹14,999 and ₹16,999 whereas the 7 Pro comes in 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB models, priced at ₹19,999 and ₹21,999 respectively.
Qualcomm's new noise cancelling audio tech might be a challenge for Apple AirPods Pro, Sony earbuds
Announced today, the chipset maker says that this tech should adjust noise cancellation levels in real time, based on how the earbuds fit in the user's ear. The ‘Adaptive' factor kicks in when the earbuds are not fit properly and will still enable a consistent performance. The firm says that the new feature may result in change in audio quality “according to the tightness of fit and the level of leak-through no matter how or where the earbuds are being used.”
Microsoft launches Video Authenticator to detect deepfake media
Microsoft has introduced new software that aims to help people detect deepfake photos and videos. Called Video Authenticator, the application gives a confidence score sorts to help users identify whether the media is artificially manipulated. The launch of the new platform comes ahead of presidential elections in the US.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 unveiled with new design, advanced tracking features
Samsung at its ‘Life Unstoppable' virtual event announced a new fitness tracker, Galaxy Fit 2. The company is likely to launch the wearable later this year. Samsung did not reveal the full specifications and price of the fitness tracker. The company said that Galaxy Fit 2 comes with a slim and lightweight design.
Windows 10 to become cooler with GIFs, emojis on the touch keyboard and better voice typing
The company is planning to make the platform cooler with some significant changes to its built-in keyboard for Windows 10. The new keyboard design is built on Microsoft's on Windows 10X and brings in new key-press animations, sounds and the ability to search for and insert GIFs.
Intel launches 11th Gen Intel Core for the laptops of the future
Intel has launched the 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics (code-named Tiger Lake). These new processors are going to be used across Windows and ChromeOS-based laptops of the future.
Galaxy A42 5G is Samsung's cheapest 5G phone, check key features
Samsung has unveiled Galaxy A42 5G, touted as the company's cheapest 5G smartphone so far. The phone will go on sale later this year. Samsung has not disclosed the full specifications and price of the phone yet. The latest addition to Samsung's popular Galaxy A-series comes with four rear cameras and a 6.6-inch OLED screen. The phone comes in black colour option.
