It was an interesting day in the world of technology today. On one hand, Realme launched the 2021 version of its Realme C11 smartphone in India. On the other hand, Google Meet got new AR filters and masks for Gmail users. In addition to that, PUBG Mobile World Invitation 2021 was unveiled with a $3 million charity prize pool. So, here's what happened in technology today:

Realme C11 2021 launched: Realme today launched a new C-series smartphone dubbed as the Realme C11 2021. It is a successor to last year's Realme C11 smartphone. The 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant of the Realme C11 2021 is priced at ₹6,999 and it is available in Cool Blue and Cool Grey colour variants on realme.com, Flipkart and mainline retail channels. 

Google Meet gets AR filters and masks: Google has added new AR masks and filters to its video conferencing app called Google Meet. This update is available on Google Meet's Android and iOS-based apps. “Add cats, astronauts, jellyfish and more to your Meet calls. New filters, masks and effects are now available for Meet on Android and iOS. Try it today,” Google wrote in a post on Twitter making the announcement. 

Twitter verification: Twitter, as of now, didn't give the rationale behind its decision of verifying someone and not verifying others. But that is about to change as Twitter today said that it will now give users more details as to why it made a certain decision. “Decision emails will now give more context on why requests don't meet our criteria. Here's a breakdown of some things to note before applying again,” Twitter wrote in a post. 

PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2021: Tencent has announced the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PWMI) 2021, a mid-season event for PUBG Mobile. The tournament will be held over July 22 and July 25 and comes with a charity prize pool of a whopping $3 million, which's powered by Gamers without Borders. 

WhatsApp features: WhatsApp is working on a number of new features that will improve the overall functionality of the app. The list includes redesigned in-app notifications in iOS app, View Once on Android app and Voice Waveforms on Android app. You can check all the details here.
