Microsoft rolled out the most significant update to Windows 11 to date, just last month. The update, dubbed as Windows 11 2H22 update, brought along a bunch of new features and even make system improvements behind the scenes. However, as is the case with any major update, the 22H2 update includes a few bugs, some of which can really affect work efficiency. One of these bugs causes a nuisance when you plug-in a USB drive and try to remove it.

Microsoft advises users to always use the safely remove tool whenever you remove a USB drive. According to Tech Radar, many users have reported a bug which stops them from using this when the Task Manager is up and running. When you try to remove the USB drive via the safe removal tool, Windows 11 becomes unresponsive for a few seconds, before showing an error which says, ““Windows can't stop your device because a program is still using it. Close any programs that might be using the device, and then try again later.”

Normally, a user gets this error when an attmpt is made to remove the USB when in use. However, this bug displays the error irrespective of the current status of the USB drive. As of now, the only workaround is to remove the USB drive directly. However, Microsoft advises users to not do that as the USB drive faces a risk of data corruption when directly removed from the system. Microsoft will be looking to immediately fix this bug by pushing an update in the near future.

Windows 11 22H2 new features:

1. Suggested Actions: Apart from better File Explorer for sharing files, Windows 11 users will get the Suggested Actions feature. How will it help you? For example, when there are phone numbers or future dates in text, Windows highlights them, making it easy to click and call with Phone Link, Teams, or Skype, or click to schedule an appointment, etc.

2. Easy access to Task Manager: Taskbar got two most important features. First, you can pin a larger selection of apps to your taskbar than space allows, which will allow you to view all your overflowed apps in one place. Second, while right-clicking on the taskbar, you will also get an option to jump directly onto your Task Manager.

3. Photos app: By the end of October 2022, your phone, your camera, and OneDrive photos will come together in one gallery.
