New fitness tracker can tell you how much muscle, fat is your body made of

According to the company, the lesser-priced TomTom Touch, comes with a new body composition analysis technology which is not available on any other fitness device available in the market.

GPS and navigation equipment and mapping devices producer TomTom on Wednesday launched a new 13,999 activity tracker, TomTom Touch, along with two other products to penetrate the Indian GPS fitness watch market.

According to the company, the lesser-priced TomTom Touch, comes with a new body composition analysis technology which is not available on any other fitness device available in the market.

"Obesity is considered the core of many diseases. With Body composition analysis right at your wrist, it will be a great indicator of your overall well being and knowing your body composition changes. Now with this innovation, we're making technology more accessible to everyone. So will our focus on fitter India," Hitesh Ahuja, country manager, TomTom India, said, adding that India has the third most obese population in the world.

"With the push of a button, TomTom Touch fitness tracker measures the percentage of body fat and muscle mass in the body. Until now, this metric has been available with dedicated scales or expensive technology. The launch of TomTom Touch fitness tracker now makes BCA more accessible to a broader audience," Ahuja explained.

The TomTom Touch fitness can be worn 24-7 and includes functions like tracking steps, sleep, all day heart-rate, calories burned. It also comes equipped with a sports mode for running, cycling or hitting the gym and also shows up smartphone notifications.

The company also launched the TomTom Adventurer GPS Outdoor watch and the TomTom Spark 3 GPS multisport fitness watches range in India at a starting price of 25,999 and 13,999 respectively.

"The TomTom Adventurer is the new GPS Outdoor Watch built to elevate outdoor activities with dedicated sports modes for hiking, trail running, skiing and snowboarding," Ahuja explained adding that the Adventurer is also equipped with a 24X7 activity tracker, multi-sport mode, built-in heart rate monitor, music player, barometer, compass and automatic lift detection for snow sports.

It also comes with GPS tracking and Route Exploration, building on TomTom's heritage as a global leader in navigation and mapping.

On the other hand, the TomTom Spark 3 GPS multisport fitness watch range comes equipped with the route exploration feature that helps user easily explore new trails and find their way back.

"By combining the integrated compass and GPS information, anyone can run with the confidence of knowing which path to take and how to get back. Routes are easily shared with friends after a run - challenging all to explore more. These GPS Sports Watches have brand new, slimmer, sleeker straps in a range of colours to wear every day, while still ready to take on even the toughest workouts," Srinivas Kumar, marketing manager at TomTom India, said.

While the TomTom Touch will be exclusively available at Amazon.in, the Adbenturer will be available at all leading e-tailers by mid-December 2016 at 25,999. The Spark 3 will be available at all leading e-tailers starting at 13,999.
