Truecaller will now make it easier to identify verified businesses

Verified businesses on Truecaller will now be displayed with different visual indicators to help avoid spam and fraud calls.

Truecaller will now let businesses verify their identity with its new brand identity solutions. The new feature is aimed at preventing fraud and scam calls which are on a rise globally. Truecaller has been beta testing this feature, and it will now be available to all users globally on Android and iOS.

Truecaller already alerts users of fraud or spam calls through its caller IDs. But the new verified identity feature for businesses will make it easier for consumers to know that they're getting calls from verified businesses. Truecaller has added five distinct visual differentiators for verified businesses. The most distinct one is a green background which more or less confirms the business is verified. But there are more indicators including a prominent brand logo, and brand name. Truecaller will also not let users edit a name once it's set by a verified business.

In addition to this, Truecaller will also display a verified icon next to the brand's name. If that's not enough, Truecaller will display “VERIFIED BUSINESS'' just under the brand's name. These visual indicators are hard to miss, and can play a significant role in preventing fraud and spam calls.

Truecaller said over 150 businesses signed up for the program during the early access phase. The company also found that this feature “has been proven to deliver significantly better call-pick-up rates in beta trials.”

Dunzo is one of the early access partners for Truecaller Enterprise. On the new feature, Brijesh Bharadwaj, Director of Product at Dunzo said, “With Truecaller Business Identity, our delivery partners have seen a 11% improvement in phone calls getting picked up by our customers during order fulfillment, thus helping optimize our process and saving time during each delivery.”
