Twitter has been down for some users since late Friday evening with users across the globe being unable to access the platform. Downdetector, the site that monitors outages in various social media platforms, late Friday evening said that almost 40,000 people reported issues with the micro-blogging platform.

Responding to users’ complaints, Twitter at the time said that it was working to fix the issue. “Tweets may not be loading for some of you. We’re working on fixing a problem and you’ll be back on the timeline soon,” Twitter wrote in a tweet.

The issue, however, didn’t resolve the following day as well with people all over the world reporting issues with the platform throughout the day. Downdetector reported that the issues peaked at around 6PM today with around 1,000 people reporting issues with the platform.

“We are investigating reported issues with PowerTrack connections. At this time, we recommend keeping active connections to PowerTrack continuing to reconnect to PowerTrack with normal reconnection logic. We will update here as we have new information,” the company wrote in an update on its Twitter API Status update page.

As of now, most of Twitter’s service is working normally and just four components are working on degraded capacities.

The company via an update on its Twitter Support page also said that it is working on fixing issues with its servers and that things will be back to normal soon. “We know that parts of Twitter still aren’t working for some of you. We’re fixing an issue with our servers to get things back to normal soon. Thanks for sticking with us,” the company wrote.
