Video calling to new file size limit, top new Telegram features you may have missed
Telegram will soon offer users video calling facility, a rare feature missing on the instant messaging platform. Check what else is new in Telegram.
Telegram may not have WhatsApp's massive userbase but the instant messaging platform does offer several unique features. With 400 million monthly active users, Telegram is also one of the closest competitors to WhatsApp. Over the years, the instant messaging platform has continued to add new features. Now, it is soon going to add video calling facility for the first time.
The video calling feature will come days after Telegram rolled out a bunch of new features for its users. In case you missed out on the recent update, here's what you need to know.
New file size limit: Telegram has increased the file-sharing size limit to 2GB. Before the update, Telegram allowed users to share 1.5GB of files through the platform. WhatsApp allows users to share file size up to 100MB and has a 16MB limit on each video you share.
Profile videos: Telegram now allows users to set videos as a profile. The application also features a few set frames to the display video. There is also an in-app soften skin feature which helps take better selfie videos and photos for profile.
Nearby: The People Nearby now shows “how far away” section to help users see friends in their proximity. There is also a new greeting sticker suggestion to meet new people on the platform.
Multi-user: Telegram now allows users to sign in on up to three devices on the desktop. So far, users could do the same on mobile only.
Extras: The instant messaging platform has redesigned music player with new icons and expandable tracklist. The message input bar has also been improved. The video editor now enables users to crop and rotate videos.
