The recently unveiled I Write Like has a simple formula: you type in or paste a few paragraphs, which a statistical analysis tool examines for word choice and writing style, comparing them with those of well known authors. It then throws up a result saying, for instance, 'I write like Dan Brown'.

While the process isn't exact science, the idea has proven immensely popular.
