WhatsApp rolled out Advanced Search Mode to some users
WhatsApp’s Advanced Search Mode enables users to search for a specific type of message in the app, such as a audio file or a GIF.
WhatsApp has started rolling out a major update to its users. The Facebook-owned social messaging site has started rolling out Advanced Search Mode to some of Android users.
As per a report by WABetaInfo, the blog that tracks development in WhatsApp, WhatsApp users who are using WhatsApp beta for Android version 220.127.116.11 or above can use this feature on their smartphones. The company is rolling out a server-side update to select Android users so it is possible that some WhatsApp users running the latest beta version of the app are unable to see the feature on their smartphones yet.
So what does this feature do? Well, as the name suggests, WhatsApp’s Advanced Search Mode enables users to search for a specific type of message in the app. This means users can specifically search for text messages, images, videos, GIFs, audio files or documents using this feature, which in turn makes the process of looking for a specific message a tad bit easier.

Until now, users could search for messages in the app and WhatsApp used to throw everything related in the results. Now, users can refine their search results by clicking on Photos, Videos, Links, GIFs, Audio or Documents options, which appear once they click on the Search bar on the top. Once they pick the kind of message that they want to look for, WhatsApp shows the selected message type followed by the keywords entered by the users in the search bar to look for specific messages.
