WhatsApp is a popular messaging app that is constantly getting updates that bring new features and improved functionality to its platform. Up until now, the company used to inform its users about these updates via blog posts and posts on various social media platforms. Now, word is that the company will do so, that is, inform its users about various updates via in-app notifications.

As per a report by WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned messaging app will soon start sending in-app notifications to its users. These in-app notifications will be used to inform users about specific announcements.

The report noted that the messaging app will start by announcing its new Terms of Service. The update will primarily focus on how WhatsApp processes user data and how businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store and manage their WhatsApp chats. Once users click on the in-app notification they will see the updated Terms of Service, which will be updated in the coming weeks and come into effect in February 2021.

In addition to this, users will also see an Agree button to accept the changes. “If you don't agree with the changes, you can delete your WhatsApp account within WhatsApp Settings,” the report noted.
