WhatsApp will soon let Android users set different wallpapers in different chats

WhatsApp is also working on a feature for its Android app that will let Android users choose a different wallpaper based on the theme used in WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is working on bringing a bunch of new features to its platform. Advanced search option, storage usage enhancements, new stickers animations and new icons are some of the features that are in works at the moment. Now, word is that the company is working on a new feature that will let Android users customise their wallpapers based on individual chats.

As of now, WhatsApp allows users to set a single wallpaper in all its chat. This wallpaper can be one from the company's gallery of images, solid colour or an image from their phone's gallery. Now, the company is working on a feature that will enable Android users to set different wallpapers in different chats. A similar feature is also in works for the company's iOS-based app.

WABetaInfo reports that in addition to setting different wallpapers in different chats, the Facebook-owned messaging app is also working on a feature for its Android app that will let Android users choose a different wallpaper based on the theme used in WhatsApp. The app will show dark-coloured wallpapers when users have activated dark theme in the app and light-coloured wallpapers when the theme is set to light. Users will also be able to set an image from their phones' galleries.

When users choose a default wallpaper, WhatsApp will ask users if they want to download the WhatsApp Wallpaper app, which provides Wallpapers. The blog site noted that the app was updated back in 2011, so we shouldn't expect from the gallery. That said, the feature is still in the developmental phase and it will be sometime before it is rolled out to WhatsApp users worldwide.
