Good news for fans of wrestling games, as 2K Sports will be the new label for WWE games, and the studio behind 'WWE '13' and the 'Smackdown vs. Raw' titles is being kept on.
Following the dissolution of THQ, the WWE license had been up for grabs, and Take-Two Interactive has agreed to take on the license and retain Japanese studio Yuke's as developer.
Take-Two subsiduary 2K Sports is already known for producing licensed basketball and baseball games such as 'NBA 2K13' and 'Major League Baseball 2K13.'
Yuke's had been involved in THQ's series of Ultimate Fighting Championship games, with 'UFC Undisputed 2010' and then 'UFC Undisputed 3' in 2012, but the UFC license was transferred to Electronic Arts later that year.
'WWE '13' was revealed as part of a televised WWE event in May 2012, with the game then released five months later, at the end of October in North America and early November elsewhere.
