Xiaomi Mi 5 to go on sale one week after launch
In a new report via GizmoChina, Xiaomi co-founder reveals that the handset will go on sale one week after the launch. This implies that the Mi 5 will likely launch by the end of next month.
Just last week, Xiaomi co-founder and VP Liwan Jiang confirmed that the Mi5 will be launched after the Spring Festival, which starts on February 8 and lasts for around 15 days. And now, in a new report via GizmoChina,he reveals that the handset will go on sale one week after the launch. This implies that the Mi 5 will likely launch by the end of next month.
Certainly one of the anticipated launches of the year, the company has been sending out teasers of the handset for quite sometime now. While just last week, the smartphone's listing popped up on a Chinese retailer revealing the device's specifications.
Based on previous rumors and listings, the Mi 5 is expected to feature a 5.2 inch QHD or HD display while under the hood it could sport a Snapdragon 820 SoC bundled with either 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage or 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage.
In terms of optics, the Mi 5 is expected to come equipped with a 16 megapixel rear camera along with an 8 megapixel front camera. The smartphone will run Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box layered with MIUI 7 (Xiaomi's custom Android skin) on top. Some new features that the Mi 5 is rumored to pack include support for USB Type C, a fingerprint scanner,and NFC connectivity.

Recently the company's co-founder also added that the forthcoming Mi 5 has already entered mass production so as to make sure there is enough stock available when the phone launches.
