Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 to launch in India on October 10; it’s lighter, slimmer than Mi MIX
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 comes with a smaller screen size but retains the edge-to-edge display, with a more standard 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone debuts in India on October 10..
Xiaomi vice-president Manu Kumar Jain on Wednesday announced that the Mi MIX 2 smartphone will launch in India on October 10. The Mi MIX 2 is the successor to last year's Mi MIX smartphone, which started the edge-to-edge display trend in the smartphone industry. The Mi MIX 2 is already available in China for RMB 3,299 (₹32,400 approximately). The company is yet to disclose details of the phone's price in India. Significantly, this is the first time Xiaomi is launching a MIX smartphone in India.
The Mi MIX 2 retains the edge-to-edge screen ratio but comes with a few changes over its predecessor. While the original Mi MIX came with a 6.4-inch display, the Mi MIX 2 sports a relatively smaller 5.99-inch display. The screen ratio has also changed to 18:9 aspect ratio from 17:9. The screen resolution on the Mi MIX 2 is full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) with 403ppi pixel density. The new smartphone is said to be 11.5% lighter and 11.9% slimmer than the predecessor.
