Yahoo! Mail to analyze users emails
On Monday, June 3, the previous "classic" version of Yahoo! Mail will be superseded once and for all by a new interface, which has been available since December 2012 and through which Yahoo! takes the liberty of scanning and analyzing the content of all email correspondence.
This move is designed to enable Yahoo! to provide new features, but also to target ads more effectively. With this new platform, Yahoo! Mail is making further inroads into Gmail's lion's share of the market: the leading web-based email provider has likewise just officially launched its new inbox, which features intelligent auto-sorting of incoming emails into five main categories.
Multiplatform interface
Compared to the previous version, the new version of Yahoo! Mail is far less cluttered and now identical whether used on the web or via a mobile app.
The changes are not particularly glaring, though the new interface is faster and more intuitive, with fewer buttons to click on. The search engine has also been improved and even provides an autocomplete feature for the input of contacts. Attachments are shown at the top of each message.
From now on, all Yahoo! Mail users will be automatically redirected to this new version.
