Your own comic strip
Give your creativity a vent by creating your own comic characters on the Internet.
Pictures do speak louder than words! So if you have some witty one-liners, or want to paint a scene in your readers' mind, you can convert your ideas into a comic strip. What's more, you don't even need to learn to sketch!
Step 1: Getting started
Bitstrips.com is an easy to use and free service which helps you generate and share comic strips that can be later classified in sections of your choice on your blog. Begin using the service, go to www.bitstrips.com/ landing, sign up with your details and start designing your avatar or comic strip character, and that too as many characters as you wish.
Step 2: Creating your characters
Once your account is confirmed and validated, create an avatar or character for your comic strip using the quick character builder:
You can select your character's gender, physical aspects like complexion, define facial features, body structure and height. On the last slide, click on an emotion for your avatar. Click: 'Save' if you wish to save the character as an avatar. Click: 'Put yourself in a bitstrip' to create a comic strip. Click 'design a friend' to create a new character.
Step 3: Design your own comic strip
Once you have created all the required characters, you can go ahead and feature them on your own comic strip. You can create an entire series running into several episodes complete with background elements and text bubbles from the same website.
Step 4: Place the strip on your blog
To share the strip through your blog, you need to publish it on bitstrip.com first. Once you save your bitstrip, you will be prompted to publish it. Set the theme of your comic strip under the 'Genre' drop-down list. Add tags to your comic by typing key words separated by commas in the 'Tags' text box. Click 'Save Tags' once done. Set the 'Who can edit this bitstrip?' value at 'Nobody but Me'. Click the 'Publish' button.
Once published, click the 'share' button appearing under the strip. Select a link as per your choice from the 'Blog/Post It' section and paste it in your blog as a widget. Click the 'Preview Choices' link to decide which format of the strip to place on your blog.
