Microsoft launched Windows 11 two months back officially. And now most of the users have started getting notifications to install Windows 11 in their system. While agreeing to install the latest upgrade, your Windows 10 PC OS will be changed to the new Windows 11. But are you ready for this change?

The good part is you have a choice! You can either stay with your current Windows 10 or can opt to migrate to Windows 11 for free. As soon as you get the Windows Update notification, it will ask you to approve the installation of Windows 11 by clicking on 'Download and Install'. If you do not want to upgrade, then all you need to do is click on 'Stay on Windows 10 for now', that will hide the upgrade option and won't show you the notification icon in the taskbar. Well, if you are willing to upgrade to Windows 11, just tap the Download and Install button. But know what all it will change for you!

Things to consider before going with Windows 11

1. Your hardware check

If you are having a brand new laptop or PC, then your system must be compatible with Windows 11 or even might come with it preinstalled. But issues may arise with the older versions of PCs, as its hardware might not match with the requirements of Windows 11. Though, the biggest issue is CPU compatibility. If your PC has a 7th gen or previous Intel CPU, then it is unsupported by the latest upgrade. Still, you can migrate to Windows 11, but the way is a little more complicated as you will need to download install files, then perform a clean install and then restore the program and data files.

2. Your favourite features which may not work in Windows 11

Habits are what we acquire while using anything for a long time. And in the case of Windows 10, I am sure you must have some of your favourite features that you won't like to change ever. Alas! Windows 11 will change some of your current features of Windows. For example, right now in Windows 10, the taskbar can be docked at the top or on either side of the screen, whereas the Windows 11 version can only be docked at the bottom. The upgrade will also remove the feature to drag a file onto the taskbar and pin it as the shortcut. There are many other such features, and if you are not ready to let go of these then you can consider to postpone the upgrade.

3. You hardware and software compatibility

Windows 11 launched two months back, and of course we shouldn't even expect a bug free operating system. Even after the mass testing of Windows 11, few users who already have opted for it are facing some bugs that may annoy you. Though, Microsoft is keeping an eye on all the issues that are coming in the way of using Windows 11 for users and fixing them as much as possible. But if you want to avoid the initial bugs of Windows 11, waiting a little more is what will be worth it.
