YouTube is getting ready to roll out a new feature that will let users switch between different camera angles on selected clips.

The new feature doesn't have a name yet but is rolling out to artists this week and will enable them to upload the same footage shot from a number of angles plus an audio track.

YouTube will then magically stitch everything together so that when one of the site's 1-billion+ users launches a video they can play at being the director, changing the angle at will.

According to Billboard, which has already seen the yet-to-be-published press materials relating to the new service, the idea is to make content more interactive and immersive, potentially enabling more repeat viewings of the same clips.

The very first video created using the new feature is by Madilyn Bailey -- an artist hand-picked by YouTube to put the concept through its paces -- and the results can be seen at: www.youtube.com/user/MadilynBailey/ChooseYourView
