As he turns 28 today, we go beyond his public persona and bring you a sneak peek into his favourite music, quirky New Year resolutions, high school and more. Music Being the founder of the biggest social networking site, Zuckerberg must always be busy touring, attending meetings with investors and what not. So what does he listen to while commuting all over the world? Well, he has quite a liking for pop - Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Shakira, John Mayer, Katy Perry. Rock enthusiasts will be happy to know that he also digs Greenday, Nirvana, The All-American Rejects, Linkin Park and U2. Also read click here. Movies One would imagine Zuckerberg would be crazy about the movie on his life, The Social Network, but being a modest guy he has only 'Liked' Hero, Fearless, Moneyball, Gladiator, The Matrix, Star Wars, Batman: The Dark Night, The Godfather, Iron Man on his Facebook page. Books It can be assumed that running the Facebook empire needs some serious reading to get 'innovative ideas'. Not surprisingly, when in doubt, Zuckerberg turns to the master philosopher - you guessed it - Plato. And of course, being a nerd at heart, he also loves the sci-fi novel Ender's Game. TV Being a boss at Facebook's Palo Alto headquarters in California does have some perks. So, Zuckerberg spends time at home with girlfriend, Priscilla Chan, his dog Beast and lazing on the couch watching The West Wing, Rome and Saturday Night Live. ![image caption](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/Images/Popup/2012/5/Mark-Zuckerberg-Girl-friend.jpg) Sports Can you imagine Mark without his well-fitted hoodies? Well, even he can't! Therefore, he takes his sports very seriously. He makes it a point to build up some muscles with a round of fencing and also spends time on the tennis court. By the way, he LOVES the New York Yankees. Important days in Mark Zuckerberg's life: Became a Vegetarian January 1, 2011 My 2011 challenge is to become a vegetarian and only eat meat if I kill the animal myself. The reason for this is that I feel lucky for having such a great life. I like eating meat and before this year I ate it almost every day. In order to practice thankfulness, I want to be more connected to the food I eat and the animals that give their lives so I can eat them. Started learning Mandarin Chinese January 1, 2010 He posted on his FB wall: 'In 2010, my personal challenge was to learn Mandarin. I have always been interested in Chinese culture and learning a language is a great way to learn about a culture. Learning a language is also a good intellectual challenge and Mandarin is a particularly difficult language for English-speakers. I have had a hard time learning languages in the past, so this seemed like a particularly good challenge. Finally, some members of my girlfriend's family only speak Chinese and I wanted to be able to talk to them.' Wore a tie for a whole year January 1, 2009 My 2009 challenge was to wear a tie for a whole year. After the start of the recession in 2008, I wanted to signal to everyone at Facebook that this was a serious year for us. Great companies thrive by investing more heavily while everyone else is cutting back during a recession. But great companies also make sure they're financially strong and sustainable. My tie was the symbol of how serious and important a year this was, and I wore it every day to show this.
