Disney+ Hotstar now has 4K streaming for supported TVs, finally

While we do not know anything about the availability of 4K content on the two plans Disney+ Hotstar has currently, the streaming support option is now available.

Amazon Prime Video and Netflix both support 4K streaming and both platforms have ample content already - so this is Disney+ Hotstar playing catch up.

Disney+ Hotstar is rolling out support for 4K streaming on their platform. Following which, Disney+ Hotstar users can stream in 4K UHD and support for HDR on the app for Android TVs. However, this support comes only to TVs that support both 4K and HDR.

So if you have an Android TV with 4K resolution and cannot see the new 4K labels yet, you need to update the app from the TV's app store.

Additionally, not all content on Disney+ Hotstar has been upgraded to 4K yet, they will be adding more content soon.

Disney+ Hotstar has not mentioned anything about the availability of 4K content on its various plans yet and neither have they differentiated between what will be available in 4K on the VIP and Premium subscriptions.

Amazon Prime Video and Netflix both support 4K streaming and both platforms have ample content already - so this is Disney+ Hotstar playing catch up. And 4K content on both these platforms is available across their plans.

Disney+ Hotstar has two plans right now - VIP and Premium. The Disney+ Hotstar VIP plan costs 399/month and the Disney+ Hotstar Premium plan costs 299 per month.

Both these plans should come with 4K content but we will have to wait for Disney+ Hotstar to share more details.
