Reliance Jio AGM 2020: What’s Jio TV+ video streaming service all about
Some of the OTT players included are Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar, Sun NXT, Lionsgate Play, Voot, SonyLIV, Zee5, JioCinema, JioSaavn and YouTube.
Reliance Industries Limited, during its 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) took a step forward in the video streaming segment by introducing Jio TV+ service. The platform, as announced by Akash Ambani on stage, offers content from more than 12 global OTT players with a single sign-in feature. Some of the OTT players included are Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar, Sun NXT, Lionsgate Play, Voot, SonyLIV, Zee5, JioCinema, JioSaavn and YouTube.
During the demo, the Jio TV+ user interface was also shown. The interface brings all the popular streaming platforms up front and has some other sections on top including Movies, Shows, Live TV, Kids and Music.
The platform has also made it easier to discover content by integrating voice search that works on genres, favourite actors, directors, producers and mood. Searching for an actor shows the movies, shows, songs, trailers and more on a single screen. All of these are compiled from different platforms – this also cuts the time to visit all the platforms separately and searching for the same topic.
Another feature here is single sign-in for these 12 apps. This means you don’t have to log in to all the apps separately and can simply search for your favourite content and stream it without facing any log-in obstacles.
All this comes in addition to the Jio app store in the set top box that gives you access to apps from different genres including Health, Cooking, Yoga, Gaming, Religion and others.
