Xiaomi launches Mi TV LUX OLED transparent edition smart TV

The newly launched TV costs RMB 49,999 (5.37 lakhs approximately) and it will go on sale in the country at 10AM on August 16.

Xiaomi on Tuesday launched the Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition in China. The newly launched TV costs RMB 49,999 (5.37 lakhs approximately) and it will go on sale in the country at 10AM on August 16.

Talking about features and design, the newly launched Mi TV comes with a 55-inch transparent OLED panel with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. It sports a contrast ratio of 150000:1 and it offers DCI-P3 93% colour spectrum. Xiaomi says that its 10-bit panel displays 1.07 billion colour combinations, an extra-wide colour spectrum that is far beyond what the human eye can perceive.

Similar to its predecessor, the newly launched Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition is also equipped with an AI Master Smart Engine that is coupled with the MediaTek 9650 processor. It also features support for AI Master and Dolby Atmos for dynamic audio performance.

The Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition runs on custom-made MIUI for TV wherein the user interface, which includes the Home page, Settings, My App, is specifically designed to better demonstrate the visual features and strength of the transparent screen. It also supports the Always-On display feature allowing users to customise display images and texts.

As far as the overall design is concerned, the newly launched Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition combines a 5.7mm ultra-thin body rectangular screen and a round base. The base stand is covered with a millimetre-grade finish that resembles compact discs blending perfectly into any surroundings.

Xiaomi says that the Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition is the world’s first mass-produced transparent TV and that is ideal for usage at homes, galleries, museums, shopping malls, and theatres.
