MINI's augmented reality glasses let you see through the body of your car

MINI showcased its new augmented reality glasses at the Shanghai Auto Show this week, which designers say will make roads safer and allow the driver to see through opaque parts of the car. Dr Joerg Preissinger, Project Leader at Mini Augmented Vision, says — 'You don't have to look away to the speedometer or to central information display to know where to go or to know how fast you go or what's the current speed limit.' Some car manufacturers already offer heads-up display systems which project a navigation system and other data on the windshield. But these glasses place it right in front of the driver's eyes, much like Google Glass.
