Electronics major Panasonic today unveiled four new durable and secure mobile computing devices ideal for mobile workers, combining highly secured data and device management.
The company plans to target highly mobile workers in fields like military, construction, public safety, healthcare, utilities, retail, maintenance, supply chain logistics and insurance, Panasonic said in a statement.
These devices are designed to give mobile workers reliable and secure access to their data and applications in challenging environments, it added.
The company launched the Toughpad FZ-G1, which runs on Windows 8, while its other offering Toughpad JT-B1 is a seven inch Android tablet designed for easy one handed operation, it said.
The tablets also boast of high bright LCD screen and long battery operating time with user-replaceable battery give high usability to field users, it added.
Toughpad tablets are designed to meet the needs of IT administrators and corporate standards with embedded hardware and software security for maximum integration into
professional environments.
The other two offerings -- JT-H 300 and JT-H 320 HT -- are rugged handheld computers based on Panasonic's TSA (Total Shock Absorbing) design, which can withstand tough working conditions, it said.
'Today's launch of mobile computing devices is a significant stepping stone towards our aim of doubling the contribution of B2B segment to Panasonic's overall revenue by 2015,' Panasonic India Managing Director Manish Sharma said.
The Indian industrial devices market is in sync with the global market and is growing at an accelerated rate owing to the dynamics of businesses and work life of consumers and the company expects to meet the varying demands of Indian enterprises, he added.
