Apple Watch Pro going all rough-and-tough with display that WON’T shatter!
The Apple Watch will be getting a massive upgrade this year! This upgrade won't just come in the form of tweaks on a single model — instead, the Apple Watch lineup will get three new models later this year. The most notable one will be the Apple Watch Series 8 coming in as the successor to the Series 7. There will be a new Apple Watch SE bringing big upgrades over the model of the same name from 2020. Lastly, there will be a new Apple Watch Pro that will replace those high-end Apple Watch models made of exotic model. Apple will position the latter as a rugged option for those seeking adventure.
The information comes from Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, who confirms that the Apple Watch lineup is going to get the biggest upgrades in a long time. While the Series 8 and Watch SE are likely to look the same as the current-get models, it will be the Apple Watch Pro that will get a completely new design. It will still have a rectangular design instead of a circular one like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
Apple Watch Pro will be very RUGGED
The Apple Watch Pro, other than the new design, will have a large display that will be 7 percent larger than the Watch 7's display. Gurman says the watch will have a 1.9-inch display, which is much bigger than the 45mm Series 7 display. Additionally, this display will be made of shatter-resistant material, which will make it more suited for outdoor activity. He also says that the Watch pro with its bigger size could end up being too large for most users.
Other than the display, the Apple Watch Pro is also likely to have a body made out of durable and lightweight titanium material. The bigger body will also accommodate a bigger capacity battery that will improve the endurance.
The Watch Pro will also get a host of new upgrades on the health front. Gurman says the Watch Pro will have a body temperature sensor. However, future models will feature sensors such as blood pressure monitor and glucose monitor.
Obviously, all of these upgrades are coming at a cost and the Apple Watch Pro, according to Gurman, may carry a price tag of $900. This kind of price could make Apple axe the Apple Watch Edition series models.
