Garmin has launched the new Tactical edition of its GPS smartwatch Instinct it India. This smartwatch comes with special tactical features like Jumpmaster, Dual Position Format, Night Vision and Stealth Mode besides other tactical activities.
Designed to withstand the toughest environments, the Instinct Tactical comes with built-in navigation sensors, multiple global navigation satellite systems, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo. The smartwatch monitors heart rate, activity and stress. There is also a TracBack feature in this smartwatch that can navigate the same route back to the starting point or even plan trips in advance with the Garmin Explore website.
The battery on the Instinct Tactical smartwatch lasts 14 days in smartwatch mode, up to 16 hours in GPS mode, up to 40 hours in UltraTrac battery saver mode.
This GPS watch is built to the US military standard 810G for thermal, shock and water resistance (rated to 100 meters). The “night vision mode” on the smartwatch reduces backlight settings to a level that doesn't interfere with the operation of night vision goggles.
The smartwatch comes with a built-in three-axis compass and a barometric altimeter that helps you keep your bearings.
Enabling the Stealth Mode on the Instinct Tactical stops the device from storing and sharing GPS position and disables wireless connectivity and communication. You can access projected waypoints and a dual-format GPS coordinate data page that supports display of MGRS, degrees/minutes/seconds and more.
Instinct Tactical monitors heart rate, activity and stress throughout the day to keep track of the user's daily activity level. It comes equipped with pre-loaded activity profiles like running, biking, swimming and more along with more mission-specific training options, including the Jumpmaster and preloaded tactical activity.
Users can pair the Instinct Tactical with an InReach device so that the watch can display messages received on the inReach device and send preset messages using inReach satellite communication technology. You can also get weather alerts and stay up to date with changes in the environment. Users can trigger an SOS alert from the smartwatch to contact the GEOS 24/7 emergency response team.
The Instinct Tactical comes in four colours - Black, Coyote Tan, Camo-Graphite and Camo-Coyote Tan and is priced at ₹31,999.
You can buy the Instinct Tactical at offline stores and online from Amazon right now. From August 8 it will be available on Paytm, TataCliq and the Garminstore.in.
