LG Tone Free FP9 earbuds have launched in India with ultraviolet lighting to sanitise in-ear bacteria build-up. Here are all details.
LG Tone Free FP9 launches in India and it takes on the Apple AirPods with ultraviolet rays! No kidding, the earbuds rely on UV lighting for one aspect of your hearing experience that no other TWS earbuds does — sanitise your earbuds to prevent bacteria build-up. LG had launched a more expensive version last year and this year, it brings in more upgrades and features at a price that is much lower. The earbuds are available in Charcoal Black and Pearl White colours.
The LG Tone Free FP9 costs Rs. 13,990 in India and directly competes with the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, Apple AirPods Gen 2, and Oppo Enco X. The highlight of the earbuds is its UV sanitising feature, which activates when yo put it in the case. LG says a 5-minute exposure of the earbuds to the UV rays in the charging cradle will kill 99.9 percent of the bacteria, which commonly include the Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumonia bacteria.
LG Tone Free FP9 earbuds features at a glance
As usual, LG has partnered with Meridian Audio for the audio tuning on the Tone Free FP9. “Meridian brings Headphone Spatial Processing to TONE Free earbuds which deliver more natural sound to the users,” says LG. Users can tune the audio output to their liking — the Flex Action Bass promise a powerful low-end audio while the 3D Sound Stage mode promises more immersive experiences while listening to music. All these can be customised with LG Tone Free app on Android and iOS devices.
To keep the noise at bay, the earbuds feature an ANC system that can be altered at various levels. You also get a transparency mode to listen carefully while having a conversation. There is also a new Whisper Mode that allows you to use one of the earbuds as a microphone. This lets you speak clearly on the earbuds.
Additionally, you also get the option of Plug and Wireless. This mode allows you to pair the earbuds to devices that don't have Bluetooth connectivity. Simply plug in the USB-C cable to the device and turn on the slider on the case; you will be able to get wireless audio with ease.
Lastly, the battery life is rated at 24 hours of use, with the charge of the case included. These are IPX4 rated, which means they are sweat and water resistant.
