Sony WF-1000XM4 headphone official video leaked ahead of August 6 audio event
This comes a few days before the company’s August 6 global event wherein we may see the 1000XM4’s launch officially.
Sony has already launched its WH-1000XM3 headphones in India and is about to launch the WF-1000XM3 earbuds too. However, the leaks for its 1000XM4 headphones have already started showing up. This comes a few days before the company's August 6 global event where we may see the 1000XM4's launch officially. The leak for now, comes in the form of a piece of promotional YouTube video that shows some of the features of the headphones.
From the design perspective, the headphones look similar to the current 1000XM3s. It features ‘HD Noise Cancelling Processor' QN1, which is there in 1000XM3 earbuds as well. However, this could be the next-gen processor. Who knows. The video also shows inclusion of a Bluetooth audio SoC along with dual Noise Sensor tech, which could result in better Adaptive Noise Cancellation.
Like WF-1000XM3, the WF-1000XM4 is seen with swipe/touch gesture controls to control the volume and some other features. It will also include a 40mm HD Hybrid driver for better audio quality in addition to DSEE Extreme for real time audio upscaling based on music genre and instrument type. One of the biggest inclusions mentioned in the video is the wearing detection that auto pauses the audio when the headphones are taken off– something that has been there in Sony earbuds.

A special focus seems to be given to Adaptive audio sensor as well that changes setting based on the situation and environment such as when there's an announcement, while walking in crowded areas, traveling and more. You can set the profiles based on location as well, something that is also there in current Sony TWS earbuds.
And lastly, there's support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The video claims the 1000XM4 headphones can run for 5 hours tops on 10 minutes of charge. Full charge can give you up to 30 hours of battery life. In the end, we see it in two colours – Black and White.
It is not for sure when the WF-1000XM4 will reach India though.
