Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi today launched its wireless earphones in India, the Earbuds S. Priced at 1,799, the audio accessory comes in Black and is expected to be a rival to the recently launched Realme Buds Air Neo, which is priced at 2,999.

The first sale is from May 27, 12PM IST via Mi.com and Amazon India.

As far as specs are concerned, the dimension for the Redmi are 2.67cm×1.64cm×2.16cm and each earbud weights a slight 4.1grams. The wireless earbuds come with a range of 10 metres in an obstacle-free environment and have a battery capacity of 43mAh per earbud. The case, however, has an additional 300mAh battery. It takes approximately an hour and a half to charge and is claimed to deliver up to 12 hours of battery life  (with case).

Redmi's #NoStringsAttached TWS come with approximately four hours of talk-time and a 150 hour standby. They also come with Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity.

Xiaomi says that its Redmi Earbuds S is primarily tuned for bass, considering the genre most people listen in India. It won't be extremely really bass heavy though. Adding to this is the special Game Mode that reduces the latency by 50% to 120ms.

As for gestures, users can switch between calls, reject or answer them, control music and activate voice assistant directly from the buds. However, it is not possible to control the volume using gestures. You can always use Siri/Google Assistant/Cortana for that.

It is IPx4 rated as well, which makes the wireless earbud sweat proof.
