1050-foot asteroid to come fearfully close to Earth; check date (Pixabay)

Asteroid (NEO) 1998 HH49 is currently in the constellation of Virgo. Is it visible? "1998 HH49 is above the horizon from Greenwich, United Kingdom. It is visible looking in the South-South-East direction at an altitude of 44° above the horizon," says theskylive.com. (Pixabay)

Given its current magnitude, Asteroid 1998 HH49 is visible only through long exposure photography.  (Pixabay)

It has been named as Asteroid 1998 HH49 and it will come quite close to the earth's surface. (Pixabay)

As per the estimate, Asteroid 1998 HH49 will have a very close encounter with Earth. It will come as close as 730,000 miles. Notably, the Moon is 238855 miles from Earth. (Pixabay)

Asteroid 1998 HH49 is about three times the distance between that of Earth and the Moon. (Pixabay)

As per NASA's estimation the asteroid will not come as close to Earth again until the year 2163. However, at that time it will come scarily close-approximately 400,000 miles only! (Pixabay)

Asteroid 1998 HH49 had made an approach to Earth in 2021 too, but then it was over 40,000,000 miles away. (Pixabay)

If you are worried about it getting any nearer, then know that Asteroid 1998 HH49 is expected to make another approach in 2025 as well as 2027, but it will be tens of millions of miles away.

NASA has dubbed asteroids such as Asteroid 1998 HH49 as Near-Earth Objects (NEOs). (Pixabay)

Near-Earth Objects (NEOs) are comets and asteroids that have been nudged by the gravitational attraction of nearby planets into orbits that allow them to enter the Earth's neighbourhood.

NASA says NEOs are asteroids and comets with orbits that bring them to within 120 million miles (195 mn km) of the Sun, which means they can circulate through the Earth's orbital neighborhood.  (Pixabay)
