How to delete messages on WhatsApp on your iPhone (Reuters)

Here is how to delete a message sent mistakenly in the group or to a person if you have an Apple iPhone.

We can easily delete our messages or chats from WhatsApp if we wish to. What we have to do is to first, go to the person's chat where we want to delete the messages, and after that select the message by pressing and holding it for a few seconds.

Then you will see the delete option where you get two categories: 'delete for me' and delete for everyone '. We have to choose one of them. If you choose me then the message will only be deleted for you, not for the other person.

And if you choose the other option which is for everyone then that message will be deleted from both sides and you will see a popup saying "deleted for everyone" instead of your message with the mistake.

Check the steps: First thing you have to do is that open your WhatsApp app and go to the chat where you want to delete the messages.

Tap and hold the message choose Delete from the menu.

Optionally, select more messages to delete multiple messages at once. If prompted, tap More choose Delete from the menu. Tap Delete Delete for Everyone.

And when anyone or the admin of any group deletes a message for everyone then instead of that message you will see message that says deleted by the admin (name of that person).

In case you have made a mistake while deleting a message, you can still Undo that, but you have tpo be quick.

After choosing Delete for me, you have 5 seconds to undo this action by pressing Undo before the message is permanently deleted.

Idea is to be very sure about which chat you have to delete. Some times, uncertainty and undue haste can lead to making more mistakes.
