Your WhatsApp account safety is under threat! Change your settings now

WhatsApp has a number of privacy settings on its app which act to keep you safe. However, you must first enable them. These are the WhatsApp privacy settings.

Hide profile picture: By changing privacy settings you can ensure or control who can look at your profile picture, your last seen, the group in which you are added and more.

The process and steps of changing your privacy settings depends on the device you use. If you are an Android user you will have to Tap More options then go to Settings then to Account and at last Privacy.

If you are an iPhone User you will have to Tap Settings and then go to Privacy, to change your privacy settings.

Hide Last-seen: Last seen refers to the last time the contact used WhatsApp. If you use this setting, while it may protect your interest, you will have to work under certain limitations as you will also not get to see others last seen too. (Unsplash)

Turn off read receipts: If you do that, the tick marks will not show that you have read the message you received. However, if you turn off read receipts, you won't be able to see read receipts from other users too. (Unsplash)

Disappearing messages: These messages will disappear from the chat after a certain period of time that the sender has indicated-24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days after the time they are sent. (Unsplash)

View Once: You can now send photos and videos that disappear from your WhatsApp chat after the recipient has opened them once. To use View Once, go to your chats to send a photo as usual, then click on the photo, and tap the ‘1’ on the right hand side of the caption box. (Unsplash)

Add Face Id : Turn on 'Require Face ID' in your WhatsApp's settings menu to add facial recognition to access your chats. Using it you can secure your chat and only you can read it and the person whom you have given access too. (Unsplash)

End-to-end encrypted back-ups : "To turn it on, head to settings, tap Chats Chat Backup End-to-end Encrypted Backup. Tap Turn on, then follow the prompts , this setting ensures that your chat stored in cloud space is as secure as the chat in your WhatsApp. (Pixabay)

Enable two-factor verification: It verifies your phone number and helps to secure your account. You can enable it this way: Go to Settings then Account then Two-Step Verification. (Pixabay)

Leave groups silently:  WhatsApp enables you to silently leave the group and for that all you need to do is just click on the name of the group chat you want to leave, and tap ‘Exit Group. (Pixabay)

Choose which groups you join: It's sometimes so irritable to be in an unwanted chat group or being forcefully added to one ,here is the solution to it: just change your Group settings in Settings Accounts Privacy. (Pixabay)
