There are many who have not been pleased after hearing the rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro models might see an increase of price by as much as $100. The Rs. 28 lakh iPhone makes the iPhone 14 price look like pocket change

The mysterious iPhone in question is the first-ever iPhone to be unveiled. The iPhone was first launched in 2007 by Steve Jobs at the MacWorld convention and offered a spec sheet that would sound hilariously bad in today’s time, but was then considered state-of-the-art. This iPad-like device had a touchscreen on a TFT panel, a 2MP camera, web browsing and a few other features.

According to a ZDNet report, the same first-generation smartphone that was unveiled by Jobs and was later kept in a sealed box has now sold for $35,000 (around Rs. 28 lakh) during an auction in the USA. The original price of the iPhone 1 was $499 for the 4GB RAM variant and $599 for the 8GB RAM variant.

The auction was conducted by RR Auction, which sold the iPhone as a part of its ‘Apple, Jobs, and Computer Hardware’ category. The sold iPhone had 8GB RAM and was in working condition.

The auction company stated that to prove that the smartphone indeed belonged to the first generation of iPhone manufactured, the original box included a “life-size image of the iPhone with 12 icons on the screen”. This is relevant since the 13th icon of iTunes was added later in 2007.
