(Pixabay) ![Author Photo](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/static/revamp/images/png/HTTech-new-circle-logo.png) ### By HT TECH Emojis are used by people to express their feelings and emotions without having to put them down in words. May it be WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media application or even normal texting, emojis can be used everywhere. The entire world celebrated World Emoji Day on Sunday, July 17th. On the occasion, WhatsApp took to its official Twitter handle to inform that emojis can have multiple meanings. The messaging application also gave an example to explain the same. “Did you know emojis can have multiple meanings? For example, to kamaʻāinas in Hawaii, the shaka 🤙 means friendship. It’s a common sign in Brazilian jiu-jitsu 🤙 In China 🤙 means the number 6. And for surfers, 🤙 means hang ten,” the tweet by WhatsApp read. > Did you know emojis can have multiple meanings?
