Google has rolled out a new update for its Photos application aimed at the tablet users. The new update brings a better optimisation for larger screen sizes of tablet devices. The older iteration was identical to the one available on smartphones.
With the latest update, the optimised interface brings a top bar with a search field. According to 9to5Google, the position will depend on the size of the tablet. For instance, on tablets with smaller or mid-size screens, it will appear next to the profile image along with Cast icon.
Interestingly, Google Photos’ new version on tablets has the search field renamed from “Search” to “Explore.”
At the bottom, you will notice a new navigation rail on the left edge. Users will now have quicker access to features such as Trash, Archive, and On Device. According to the report, Google Photos’ latest update is available to select users at the moment. The updated version is expected to be widely available very soon. The iOS version is likely to get the update in coming days as well.
