Xbox Game Streaming reaches Windows 10 but it is not official

If you have been a Xbox fan or a customer, you must be aware of the Xbox Game Streaming service that lets you stream titles at a monthly fee. Now, this supposed Stadia rival has reached Windows 10 PCs. However, there is a catch. As mentioned by Ars Technica, the Windows version of this service quietly leaked in late 2020 but is now making rounds ever since people started sharing it on Reddit and YouTube. It is not for sure if Microsoft is aware of this and has blocked the access for this Windows version yet or not.

The method mentioned in the report requires you to access and download a Windows app that is buried in the Microsoft database. Then you would have to use a one-time unlock phrase to get it working. As tested by the website, the steps seem to be “simple and safe enough.”

In case you aren’t aware of Xbox Game Streaming service, it was first showcased in 2019 and later became a part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription service in 2020. It is similar to Google Stadia as it gives access to over 200 titles free, only if you pay $15 every month.

The app initially rolled out to Android smartphones and tablets and it might reach more devices in 2021.

Talking about services, Microsoft recently started testing Dolby Vision for Xbox Series X and Series S consoles. These features were announced before but has now started reaching to some gamers before they go for the wide realease. In addition, the firm recently rebranded its Xbox Live service to Xbox Network.
