With the JioPhone Next, the Jio is bringing an Android OS-based smartphone to users in India on November 4. The device will cost 6,499 and will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 chipset. The device comes with a 13MP primary sensor and an 8MP selfie shooter on the front. It will have an HD+ display, with a 720p resolution. The phone only has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device might have poor specs on paper, but it appears to be geared towards a section of 2G users on other carriers who are looking to try out the smartphone experience for the first time – but cheaper options do exist, like the Samsung Galaxy M01 Core.

Several months after the Asus Zenfone 8 was launched globally, the device is yet to arrive in India. While the company had previously revealed the device could come at a later stage due to delays caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic, it is currently unclear whether the device will launch in the country this month. The Asus 8Z, which is the expected name of the device in the country, could come with Snapdragon 888 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. However, Asus is yet to officially announce a launch date or pricing for the device in the country.
