Panasonic on Thursday added a new mirrorless camera to its Lumix series. The new launched Lumix BGH1 mirrorless camera costs 1,94,990 in India and it is available across Panasonic brand shops and Panasonic 4K Imaging School.

Panasonic says that BGH1 is a modular, light-weight cinema camera that can also be used for professional filmmaking. The company said that its newly launched mirrorless camera has been approved by Netflix as a primary camera for filming Netflix Originals, making it the first micro-four-thirds camera to be on the list.

As far as the features are concerned, the LUMIX BGH1 comes with a 10.2-megapixel Live MOS sensor with dual native ISO technology and the Venus Engine. The camera allows a maximum ISO 51200 high sensitivity recording. It enables 4:2:0 10-bit C4K/4K 60p / 50p internal video recording. A low-bit-rate recording mode C4K/4K HEVC/H.265 for HLG is also available.

It comes with two tally lamps (one in the front 1 and one at the back), a network connection lamp, a 3.5mm audio jack that is compatible with XLR microphone DMW-XLR1 and a generic remote control unit. For connectivity, it has 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 4.2 BLE, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a 3G-SDI port and an HDMI Type-A terminal. It comes bundled with accessories including a cable lock band, an AC adapter and an AC cable.

“LUMIX BGH1 is a multi-application box that provides everything a professional needs to unbox their creativity. With its miniature form factor, it is ideal for gimbal and drone work as well as broadcast, live streaming, documentary, and cinema production. We strongly believe this cinema digital camera will create a niche for itself amongst the cinematographer community," Sandeep Sehgal, Business Chief, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India & SAARC said on the launch.
