Google
1/5 Keep strong password: Using a password manager (even if it’s not Google’s) will help you store and use a strong, unique password for each site you log into. Google Password Manager can suggest and save a strong, unique password of gobbledygook (like KZamPPzj43T9mQM). Then, Chrome will autofill the password next time you need it — on any device. Chrome should suggest a new strong password when creating a new account, or you can always right click in the password field and click “Suggest Password.” (Pixabay)

2/5 Keep updating Google Chrome: Like every other application, security engineers work to keep Chrome safe against the latest threats, by working on updates and improvements. And these updates and improvements come out at least every two weeks. Chrome checks for updates regularly, and when one is available, Chrome downloads it immediately and then applies it when you close and reopen the browser. But if you haven’t closed your browser in a while, you may have a pending update visible in the upper right corner of the browser window. To apply the update, click “Update” or simply close and reopen Chrome. (REUTERS)

3/5 Keep note of Chrome's download warnings: Chrome warns its users about dangerous downloads when possible. When you see a download warning, you can still download the file, but it is recommended not to do so. Computers are often compromised by malware because people misunderstand or ignore warnings. 4/5 Use 2-step verification: Two-factor authentication can use your phone to add an extra step to verify that it's you when you sign in. Signing in with both a password and a second step on your phone protects against password-stealing scams. If you sign into Chrome with a Google Account, be sure that you’re enrolled in 2-step verification to protect your account. (Unsplash)

5/5 Use the browser with Enhanced security protection: To be even more secure while browsing the web in Chrome, turn on Enhanced Safe Browsing protection in your Chrome settings. It substantially increases protection from dangerous websites and downloads by sharing real-time data with Safe Browsing. If you’re signed in, Chrome and other Google apps you use (Gmail, Drive, etc) will be able to provide improved protection based on a holistic view of threats you encounter on the web and attacks against your Google Account, according to the blog post. Google Workspace Individual storage plan to get a big boost of 1TB storage. (Google)

“Your storage is full” - You must have found this message a number of times while uploading a file on your Google Drive, adding a new video or photo to Google Photos, or even keeping emails stored in your mailbox. Finally, Google is ending this hassle to manage storage for Google Workspace Individual accounts. In an attempt to support users to expand their businesses, communicate, and collaborate more effectively, Google is now increasing the current 15GB free storage to 1TB.

“Soon every Google Workspace Individual account will come with 1 TB of secure cloud storage. You don't have to lift a finger to get the upgraded storage: Every account will be automatically upgraded from their existing 15 GB of storage to 1 TB as we roll this out,” Google announced in a blog post. Google further agrees that while growing a business, it is obvious that users will need more docs, data, and digital assets to manage and store. Google Drive comes as a savior in such a situation. It allows users to store over 100 file types, including PDFs, CAD files, and images.

According to the company, “Google Workspace Individual is a paid offering that helps individual business owners grow, run, and protect their businesses. While these customers now have 1TB of storage, users with a standard Google Account will maintain 15GB of cloud storage at no cost (not 1TB)."

Moreover, users can easily collaborate on and edit Microsoft Office files without converting them. Not just that, Drive comes with built-in protections against malware, spam and ransomware so users don't have to worry about accidentally opening the door to malware just by opening a document.

How to get an upgrade from 15GB storage on Google to 1TB?

You don't need to do anything! Google will automatically upgrade the storage cloud data limit on every Google Workspace account from 15GB to 1TB. All you need to do is continue using the current service and you will have access to 1TB of storage to store files, documents, and other stuff without any extra charges.

Currently, Google offers three monthly plans of 100GB storage for Rs. 130 per month, 200GB storage for Rs. 210 per month, and Rs. 650 per month for 2TB storage plan.
