iPhone 14 is now said to be manufactured in India just two months after its global launch. Previous rumours had talked of Apple planning to manufacture the iPhone 14 in India alongside the Chinese markets this year to bypass the geopolitical tensions between the US and China. While it wasn't known earlier how soon could Apple begin the production in India, a new report now narrows the gap between China and India production to just two months after launch. That means India could be making and exporting brand new iPhone 14 models by November 2022.

Apple is currently said to be ramping up the manufacturing arrangement in India and should be able to make the next-gen iPhones soon. The Bloomberg report mentions that the first batch of Indian-made iPhone 14 models will be finished by the end of October or early November. However, there are big challenges to be faced when manufacturing such a new product in India, chief among which is maintaining the secrecy and high standards of production quality.

The report says that imposing such rigorous manufacturing controls in a second country to keep new product details confidential could prove difficult. It is said that the high standards of security controls and “stringent seclusion” of China facilities could difficult to replicate in India. Additionally, Apple is also said to be concerned about the Indian customs officials who open up packages to cross-check with the declarations.

Hence, Apple will begin the production from China to ensure a smooth launch process, considering that most iPhone components are manufactured in China itself. Apple would want to speed up the manufacturing in China first and then bring its focus to India.

A previous report said that India would only get to manufacture the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 in India. The 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, and both the Pro variants are likely to be manufactured in China only. Apple has only manufactured the standard iPhone variants in India so far and left out the Pro models for China.

The 6.1-inch iPhone 14 this year is said to have the same design as the iPhone 13 and might even use the same A15 Bionic chip, although with faster and more RAM capacity as well as a hexa-GPU core. Rumours suggest minor improvements in performance, battery life, cameras, and some more. Even the display is expected to get 90Hz of refresh rate this year.
