Free Lava Agni 5G if you have Realme 8S! Know how to get it NOW

The Lava Agni 5G marked the company's return to the midrange smartphone space late last year and, on the whole, it was a good first attempt. It was pricey but the overall package was good enough to compare with Dimensity 810-powered phones in its price category. Lava, however, feels it makes the best one in this segment and hence, it wants to challenge the segment benchmark; the Realme 8S.

As part of its latest promotional campaign, Lava is giving away its Agni 5G for free! Sounds too good? There's a catch. In return, you will have to give back your Realme 8S. The Realme 8S is essentially the competition to the Agni 5G at the moment.

Did the gamble work? Lava currently states that the Agni 5G's exchange offer is now closed after an “overwhelming response”. Hence, if you are reading this now, you may have already missed it. The offer was supposed to lasty until January 7 but it seems there was a lot of interest for the phone.

Lava even prepared a chart comparing the Agni 5G with the Realme 8S, showing its superiority over the latter. The Agni 5G is shown to have a bigger display and a quad camera setup instead of the Realme 8S' triple rear cameras. Wierdly, Lava missed out on the point where the Realme 8S has a faster 33W system while the Agni 5G only offers a 30W system.

While this was a marketing stunt to grab some attention, the Agni 5G in itself is a good option for those who seek something new. In our review, the Agni 5G scored well with its performance, battery life, charging speeds, and a clean UI. The phone lacked in terms of camera refinement and compared to the Realme 8S, the overall experience lacked.

The Agni 5G is currently selling at a price of ₹19,999 but the Realme 8S with its lower price of ₹17,999 is still the most affordable phone with the Dimensity 810 chip.
