PUBG Mobile’s lifetime revenue hits $3 billion in just 7 months

PUBG Mobile has hit a new milestone of doubling its lifetime revenue to more than $3 billion globally. PUBG Mobile has achieved in just over seven months, according to data by Sensor Tower.

The total revenue is a combination of PUBG Mobile and Game For Peace which is how the game is known in China. This year itself both games together made $1.3 billion in revenue and even hit a record of $270 million in March. Game For Peace has actually added more revenue of $1.6 billion in lifetime player spending which comprises 52% of the total revenue. After China, PUBG Mobile gets the most user spending from the US (14%) and Japan (5.6%).

Sensor Tower adds that PUBG Mobile had been generating “significant revenue” but this has skyrocketed with Covid-19 lockdowns and Game For Peace in China. It also marks how moving a popular PC/console title to mobile is proving a major success. Similar trends are visible with Call of Duty: Mobile and Fortnite as well.

PUBG Mobile also gets more share of revenue from the App Store which accounts for 79% of overall player spending. Google Play Store contributes 21% of lifetime revenue. Sensor Tower also revealed that PUBG Mobile and Game For Peace have 734 million downloads so far. The most number of downloads with 175 million installs, followed by China and the US.

After PUBG Mobile, Garena Free Fire has the highest revenue of over $300 million this year. This is followed by Knives Out from NetEase which made over $260 million, and Call of Duty: Mobile with more than $220 million in revenue.
